Lettlandinfos - Vor rund einem Monat wurde an dieser Stelle bereits über das Dorf Valdgale berichtet. Anfang des Jahres war das Wetter aber nicht gerade passend. Jetzt, wo die Wald- und Kieswege wieder einigermaßen befahrbar (Fahrrad) sind und gestern die Sonne - fast schon frühlingshaft – schien, ergab sich die Möglichkeit, den Ort genauer unter die „Optik“ zu nehmen.   

Valdgale ist ein Dorf im Landkreis Talsi. Es liegt ca. 4,5 km von dem Kreisstädtchen Talsi und 122 km von Riga entfernt. Die Siedlung entstand in der Nähe des Zentrums des ehemaligen Gutshofs Valdgale (Waldegahlen ). Bis in die 1960er Jahre war Valdgale der Knotenpunkt des Schmalspurbahnnetzes von Nordkurland , wo die Linien in alle Himmelsrichtungen und Dörfer und Städte abzweigten, aber auch das ist auch schon wieder lange her. Das alte Bahnhofsgebäude der Kleinbahn steht noch, ist aber wohl für Privatpersonen schwer zugänglich (Wir arbeiten daran!).

Der Gutshof Valdgale ist uralt und wurde erstmals 1390 urkundlich erwähnt. Das Herrenhaus von Valdgale wurde in seiner jetzigen Form im 18. Jahrhundert erbaut. Im Laufe der Zeit wurden dem Gutshaus auf der Parkseite zwei Flügel hinzugefügt.

Während der Sowjetzeit war das Gebäude teilweise bewohnt und befand sich – was man nachlesen kann - in einem befriedigenden technischen Zustand. Auch einige Geräte und Haushaltsgegenstände aus der Zeit der ehemaligen Besitzer wurden darin aufbewahrt. In den 80er Jahren, so ist weiter zu lesen, begann dann wohl der Untergang der Gutsanlage – er wurde nicht repariert und zerfiel einfach vor aller Augen. Drei alte und wertvolle Öfen wurden in das Schlossmuseum Rundāle überführt und dann war es das wohl!

Das Gutshaus von Valdgale unterscheidet sich von anderen Gutshäusern aktuell aber dadurch, dass man es wohl augenscheinlich zu erhalten versucht! Bei der großen Gutsanlagen kann man nicht alles „retten“, aber in Valdgale sieht man doch erhebliche und erfreuliche Fortschritte, die immerhin aufzeigen, dass der Erhalt derartiger Gebäude durchaus möglich ist – was aber wahrscheinlich nur mit sehr viel Liebe und noch mehr Geld möglich ist!

Wenn man über die Allee – von der Hauptstraße aus – auf das Gut zufährt, dann sieht man doch schon, dass da der Wille vorhanden ist, nicht alles zusammen brechen zu lassen! Man sollte sich die Zeit nehmen und etwas durch die Umgebung des Gutshofes und von Valdgale zu streifen. Der Gutshof selber, der Käseturm brauchte dringend eine Dachreparatur (aber wer soll das bezahlen), ist schon eine Besichtigung wert, aber auch der Teich und der Park, der einige botanische Besonderheiten aufweist ist einen Besuch wert und natürlich die renovierte Windmühle, wohl inzwischen das Wahrzeichen von Valdgale, ist sehenswert.

Apmēram pirms mēneša tika ziņots par Valdgales ciemu. Gada sākumā laika apstākļi tomēr nebija īsti piemēroti. Tagad, kad meža un grants ceļi atkal ir vairāk vai mazāk izbraucami (ar velosipēdu) un vakar spīdēja saule - gandrīz kā pavasarī -, mums bija iespēja tuvāk apskatīt ciemu.  

Valdgale ir ciemats Talsu rajonā. Tas atrodas aptuveni 4,5 km no Talsu novada pilsētas un 122 km no Rīgas. Apdzīvotā vieta izveidojusies netālu no kādreizējās Valdgales (Waldegahlen ) muižas centra. Līdz 20. gadsimta 60. gadiem Valdgale bija Ziemeļkurzemes šaursliežu dzelzceļa tīkla mezgls, no kura līnijas atzarojās uz visiem kompasa punktiem, ciemiem un pilsētām, bet arī tas bija sen. Vecā šaursliežu dzelzceļa stacijas ēka joprojām stāv, taču privātajiem apmeklētājiem, iespējams, ir grūti pieejama (pie tās strādājam!).

Valdgales muiža ir sena un pirmo reizi dokumentāri minēta 1390. gadā. Pašreizējā veidolā Valdgales muižas kungu māja tika uzcelta 18. gadsimtā. Laika gaitā muižas kungu mājai tika piebūvēti divi spārni parka pusē.

Padomju laikā ēka bija daļēji apdzīvota un - saskaņā ar to, ko var nolasīt - apmierinošā tehniskā stāvoklī. Tajā glabājās arī daži darba rīki un sadzīves priekšmeti no bijušo īpašnieku laikiem. Tālāk lasāms, ka 20. gadsimta 80. gados, iespējams, tad sākās muižas bojāeja - tā netika remontēta un vienkārši sabruka visu acu priekšā. Trīs vecās un vērtīgās krāsnis tika pārvestas uz Rundāles pils muzeju, un tad droši vien viss!

Valdgales muiža no citām muižām mūsdienās atšķiras ar to, ka to acīmredzot mēģina saglabāt! Lielajās muižās visu "saglabāt" nav iespējams, taču Valdgalē redzams ievērojams un iepriecinošs progress, kas vismaz liecina, ka šādu ēku saglabāšana ir pilnīgi iespējama - bet droši vien tikai ar lielu mīlestību un vēl lielāku naudu!

Ja brauc pa aleju - no galvenā ceļa - muižas virzienā, jau tagad var redzēt, ka ir vēlme neļaut visam sabrukt! Jums vajadzētu veltīt laiku, lai pastaigātos pa muižu un Valdgali. Ir vērts apmeklēt ne tikai pašu muižu, siera torni, kuram izmisīgi nepieciešams jumta remonts (bet kurš par to maksās), bet arī dīķi un parku, kurā ir dažas botāniskas iezīmes, un, protams, ir vērts apskatīt atjaunotās vējdzirnavas, kas, iespējams, līdz šim ir Valdgales orientieris.

About a month ago, there was a report about the village of Valdgale. At the beginning of the year, however, the weather was not exactly suitable. Now that the forest and gravel roads are more or less passable again (by bike) and the sun was shining yesterday - almost like spring - we had the opportunity to take a closer look at the village.  

Valdgale is a village in the district of Talsi. It is located about 4.5 km from the county town of Talsi and 122 km from Riga. The settlement was established near the centre of the former Valdgale (Waldegahlen ) manor. Until the 1960s, Valdgale was the junction of the narrow-gauge railway network of Northern Kurzeme, where lines branched off in all directions and to villages and towns, but that was also a long time ago. The old station building of the narrow-gauge railway still stands, but is probably difficult to access for private visitors (we are working on it!).

Valdgale Manor is ancient and was first documented in 1390. The manor house of Valdgale was built in its present form in the 18th century. Over time, two wings were added to the manor house on the park side.

During the Soviet period, the building was partly inhabited and was - according to what can be read - in a satisfactory technical condition. Some tools and household items from the time of the former owners were also kept in it. In the 1980s, it is further read, the demise of the estate then probably began - it was not repaired and simply fell apart before everyone's eyes. Three old and valuable stoves were transferred to the Rundāle Castle Museum and then that was probably it!

The manor house of Valdgale differs from other manor houses today in that it is apparently being tried to be preserved! It is not possible to "save" everything in large manor houses, but in Valdgale one can see considerable and pleasing progress, which at least shows that the preservation of such buildings is quite possible - but probably only with a lot of love and even more money!

If you drive along the avenue - from the main road - towards the estate, you can already see that there is the will not to let everything collapse! You should take the time to stroll around the estate and Valdgale. The estate itself, the cheese tower in desperate need of roof repair (but who is going to pay for that), is worth a visit, but also the pond and the park, which has some botanical features, is worth a visit and of course the renovated windmill, probably the landmark of Valdgale by now, is worth seeing.
